Welcome Moms!

Picture
Just like you, I am a busy mom trying to juggle all that life throws at me, while at the same time ensuring that my children are fed the most natural wholesome foods possible.  When my first son turned six months I was determined to only feed him homemade organic baby foods.  With a degree in nutrition, and over a decade of experience working in the food industry, my opinion of many processed prepacked foods is tainted.  After three months of chopping, boiling and blending day in and day out, I became pregnant with my second son and quickly developed all day morning sickness that left me struggling to feed myself.  I had no choice but to resort to using some prepackaged baby and toddler foods.  Label reading never became as important for me as it was then and with one baby in my cart and another in my belly, my grocery shopping trips were no longer about reading food labels but more about getting in and out without having to change a diaper or run to the bathroom.

We would like to believe that prepackaged foods made for babies, toddlers and children are nutritious and wholesome, but that is not always the case.  Knowing how to read your food labels is step number one to becoming a more informed mom when grocery shopping.  Now that I am working part-time and raising two little boys that are both still in diapers, I know first hand that there are not enough hours in the day to read your labels thoroughly; that's why I created the "Just for Moms" section of the website to help guide you through the information and misinformation on food labels marketed towards our children.

Happy food label reading!
